Yes, I am still here!
And no, I have not got married.
And I can not send you a picture of the boyfriend because their ain`t one.
But thanks for the interest.
So, what has little old me been up to?
Wel, there is not so much to do on the farm now Eric is back in action and winter is here.So I have been having adventures of a different kind.
First and most importantly, I walked the Tongariro Crossing!
It may not sound that big of a deal to most, but every kiwi would gaze in amasement. (wel nearly)The Tongariro crossing is a 7 to 8 hour walk across a national park. Walking along the foot of a volcano (a.k.a Mount Doom, for us LOTR fans). Apparently it last burped in 2001 and errupted in 1995. Not to worry, it behaved while I was there! Every year people die walking this track. Because, to be hounest, it can be dangerous if you are not experienced, like me. lol.
No, people do die every season, I was just lucky the weather was good. But as you can imagine, it is quite an experience.
I have also painted the hut. This is a `little` cabin in the bush that the Walkers have built as a holliday house. The whole family has helped to build it, and their friends too.
And I have painted the outside. Green, to blend in.
It has taken me a while, but now I am proud to say,
That I am sick of green.
Native bush or not. I would have begun to put orange spots all over it. If I had my way.To make it really blend in I am going for brown on the windows.
We hope, the food (a dear) will actually run in to the cabin. and knock itself out.
Saves going though all the hastle of hunting!
So, what else,.. Ah yes I went to Hamilton. I stayed with Yvonne`s sister and her husband. Robin and Brian.
It was a Nice weekend, we did a lot of shopping. Big city, could not resist. Main attraction was `grandmothers garden` a quilt shop.
Yes, I have turned into one of them.
I even go to quilt club now.
Hey, do not laugh I live in Taumarunui and theirfore have to blend in!
It took me 4 hours to get to Hamilton, and I did not get lost once. I know some of you will be verry proud of me!
Even better, I am in Wellington this week and never got lost getting here either!I am getting quite attached to the beast. My trusty new old banger.
Next weekend I am of to Auckland. Going to watch the All Blacks play against England.
Really, really looking forward to that!
That, of course is the real reason that I am single. I have saved myself!
As you can tell, I am having lots of fun.
As I am too thick to work out how to put the pictures on the blog, you will have to wait untill I see you next. Sorry. Up to now, We have 4 dvd`s full of pictures. So be warned, you will get bored!
Hope everyone is well!
Lots of love
Kimberley
